The library seemed like it was quiet enough for Kaidan to sit and think. It was a library after all, and it was a place that he normally didn't visit. While Kaidan didn't mind a good book once in a while, reading wasn't exactly his favorite thing to do. Instead he preferred staying out late at night to watch the stars, or watching the trainers and their dragons early in the morning wishing that he could be one of them.
Kaidan entered the library, and glanced at the various chairs, couches and rows of books before him. He had been here before, every once in a while he would have to do research for school and he would spend the day here. Kaidan only wished that the library had computers, that would have certainly made research a bit less painful and boring. But, for some odd reason which Kaidan did not understand, computers were not allowed.
As Kaidan went to sit down on one of the couches, he glanced around the rows of books once more. A thought came to his mind, and he wondered whether or not he would be able to find a book on stars. Perhaps he would look later, but for now he simply let out a small sigh and leaned back on the couch.

Royalise quickly and quietly went through all the rows and columns of books and grabbed whatever she found interesting. She skidded to a halt when she finally noticed how tall her pile of books was. One, two, three, eighteen she said in her head after doing a quick count. Man how do i carry all this she thought slowly walking towards the couch. She hid her foot on one of the table and almost screamed but at least she had remembered not to scream since it was a library full of dragons.
Royalise peeked out from behind her hugs stack of books. She spotted a boy maybe a few years older than her sitting on the couch. He seemed to look as if he had a lot of practice looking up. Royalise thought for a moment. Hmm star gazers tend to stare up like that don't they she questioned herself. She then looked at her huge pile of books and spotted a book about stars. Royalise tugged at the book. She finally succeeded and pulling out the book. She looked at its cover and then stuffed it infront of the boys face. "You might want to read something if you are in a library" she said to him.

While lost in his thoughts, Kaidan didn't notice the young girl wandering the library until he heard the thump of a foot hitting a table. As he glanced over to her, Kaidan raised an eyebrow at the enormous pile of books that she was carrying. Did she honestly plan to read all of that? It would take Kaidan at least a year just to get through half of them. He watched her for a moment as she peeked out from behind her stack of books.
When a book was suddenly in his face, Kaidan leaned back slightly as he read the cover, and what he saw surprised him. How on earth would this girl know that he liked stars? Reaching up, Kaidan gently took the book from the girl, and glancing up at her he gave a small smile. "Uh.. thanks. I was actually going to look for a book like this, you saved me some trouble."

"No problem just thought you liked it by the way you looked up my father likes to do star gazing as well" she said smiling at him. Should probably put down the books she thought to herself. She walked over to the table in front of the couch and put down the books. "So um how are you?" she asked him picking up one of the books on legendary dragons.
She looked around the library and then decided to just sit beside the boy. "Okay so i think its rude of me not to introduce myself." she said. "My name is Royalise, used to live with my father until i came here when i was a six year old still miss my father i don't star gaze anymore though makes me have sad feelings or thoughts about my father" she said with a slightly sad tone. "Um what's your name?" she asked the boy.

"You're really observant if you can tell that by just looking at me." Kaidan replied as he glanced down to the book again. When the girl sat down next to him he looked to her again, noting that she seemed a little talkative. Of course Kaidan didn't mind, he wasn't really good at holding a conversation, so whenever he met someone willing to talk it meant that he could just listen. He preferred listening over talking, anyway.
"I'm good, I suppose." Kaidan said with another small smile, then he listened to the girl again. She certainly seemed willing to share her story with him, but Kaidan didn't mind and simply replied with, "Royalise.. huh. Sounds kind of like my mother's name." He leaned forward a bit, then placed his book on the table in front of them. "My name's Kaidan. It sounds like you've been here a lot longer than I have, I've only been here a few years."

"Yeah i am very observant" she said smiling. She was not a person who talked much unless it came to people she did not know. She looked at the boy for a little bit as if she was studying him. Well not studying more like observing him. Royalise was used to the stares people gave her when she watched them so she would be quite used to it if he had stared at her weirdly.
"You don't know if you are doing good?" she asked. She lisetened to herself speak and made a mental not that she sounded just like that girl Luna from one of her favorite books Harry Potter. She smiles again. "Hmm really what is your mothers name?" she asked him curiously. "Hmm Kaidan that is a nice name, and yes i have been here for eight years the years i have been here had no dragons yet until now that is. They came back and we do not know how" she said staring at her book.

Kaidan gave a shrug. "I guess not, I haven't really thought about it." To be honest, it wasn't often someone asked Kaidan how he was doing. He didn't really have that many friends since he spent most of his time by himself. He had considered going out to make friends, but he didn't know of anyone that didn't have a dragon like him. But from what the girl had said, it sounded like she didn't have one either.
"My mother's name is Rosaline." Kaidan replied, "Kind of an odd name, but my grandparents liked old names like that, so that's why they named her that." He suddenly paused, then smiled a bit as he reached up to nervously rub the back of his neck. "Uh.. not that your name is old or weird or anything.. I think it's pretty." He hoped he hadn't offended his potential new friend, and decided to try and change the subject. "I wonder why the dragons have come back now."

She smiled. "Okay i won't bother you about that" she said. She was not used to actually talking as much as she was right now. She was just being curious and maybe a little bit nosy. Royalise liked to talk with Kaidan he was quite easy to talk to unlike other people who go on and on and never let you spoke. She smiled again. Guess he does not have a dragon either she thought to herself.
"That is a really nice name" she commented. She smiled at Kaidan. "It is not odd unless i am odd which i am, odd, different, weird whatever you call it. Like when i see ghosts i see all the ghosts in this library i only see them because my mother is dead and i see her everywhere i mean her ghost. I watched her die from a dragon. Just a few months ago its not something i assumed would happen but i guess they are not used to it yet" she said with her distant voice like how she spoke all the time after her mother died. "I knew someone named Rosaline she was my friend she is much older now i can tell you that" she said. "She uses a wheelchair but she also has a dragon but the dragon she has got her in the wheel chair i don't get that its her dragon" she said with a slight laugh. "Umm no nothing offending i did not even think of it until you mentioned it" she said looking down. She suddenly realized he had chosen to change subject and she looked up again. "I do not think they had a choice whether or not to come here i think something is making them come here maybe to put some up in this school been quiet for quite some time already" she said staring at the pictures in the library that had the ghosts of dragons and people in them which others could not see.

"Thank you." Kaidan replied when Royalise complimented his name. "Being odd is good. Without weird people, the world would be a very boring place." He listened to her again, taking a quick glance to the books on the table again before looking back to Royalise. She certainly was a very easy person to talk to, and that type of person was often hard to find.
"I'm sorry to hear about your mother." Kaidan said, "I can't say that I know the pain, but I do know what it's like to have to care for yourself." He had considered telling her how he knew, but Kaidan had decided that Royalise likely wasn't interested, and he wasn't particularly willing to talk about it anyway. He wasn't really used to talking about his past, since he didn't think much about it and no one ever asked him anyway.
"Well.. whatever the reason, the dragons are back and I can't wait until the new eggs are here." Kaidan gave another smile, "I haven't been waiting as long as you, though. You must be really excited." Kaidan himself had been very exited recently, but with his usual calm personality it didn't show much.

Royalise smiled at him. "Well most don't like me they say i make things awkward, weird, or pepple tend to make fun of me or run away from me for being so odd and different but i guess you are right about the world being a boring place with us odd people." she said smiling at him. It was the first time someone had ever said something good about her.
"Well that is okay" she said to Kaidan. "Most people tend not to know my pain plus with my seeing more than the ghosts from the graveyards its a pain they tend to bug me a whole lot for something that i do not even have" she said sadly. She hesitated a little bit since she was talking to much about herself.
"Yeah i always wonder why they came back something could have sent them back from when they faded away from the world always wondered i was little when they faded just a few years before i came here" she said smiling a little sadly. "Well i am not exactly excited since i am used to all those years having no dragon and there was already one hatching no dragon likes me because i am odd one of them almost bit my arm off it was not pretty" she said rubbing at her arm uncomfortably.

"What do people define as odd, anyway? Just being out of the ordinary?" Kaidan paused and shook his head. "You don't seem weird to me. I mean.. that's not to say that you aren't unique, everyone is." Kaidan gave a small inaudible sigh. He really needed to learn when to stop talking. He had a way of offending people by not thinking before speaking.
"Well, no matter what's happened in the past, I think that we're going to get our dragons soon. I can feel it. Or maybe that just me be optimistic like usual." Kaidan gave a shrug and then continued, "And besides, while I don't have my dragon it means my mom doesn't have to worry about me. I think she's hoping that I give up and go home. She's just worried about me getting killed. Come to think of it, I am too."
Realizing what he said, Kaidan rubbed the back of his neck again and smiled. "Uh.. I mean, I'm not scared at all really. Dragons don't worry me one bit. Just thinking about my mom, you know, if I died she'd be crushed." In reality, angry dragons were intimidating and downright scary to Kaidan, but he wasn't going to mention that.

((being lazy so i am not putting quote colors)) "I do not know i guess people who speak like me and who make things awkward" she said sighing shaking her head. "Yeah maybe because you are like me not many friends you have here i can see that" she said. Its not like she stalked him or anything but seeing a boy being all quiet its something she had never really seen much unless he had not many friends.
"Yeah what happened is the past and maybe just maybe but that depends on the dragon but i know for sure there will be rare ones this year and you might get it" she said flipping her book to the rare page. "Rare dragons are usually rainbow colored or purple and they sparkle a lot and legendary's has all the elements and can produce everything" she said flipping to another page. She looked up at Kaidan. "Well you won't give up and you won't get killed if you treat the dragons right and you keep to the rules you should be fine" she said smiling.
"Its okay if you are scared its not something to hide" if you show this i bet your dragon would be a nice one and one that will not try to bite your arm off" she said smiling and laughing. It was scary if it was so close to biting your arm off so she usually tried to stay off the topic but it seemed easy to talk about it to Kaidan.

"What do you mean by make things awkward?" Kaidan asked, leaning back against the couch again. "You're not making things awkward here." As Royalise spoke again, Kaidan smiled and absentmindedly ran a hand through his hair before resting his hand back on his lap. "Uh, yeah.. I don't have many friends. I was hoping it wasn't that obvious. I guess I really need to get out there and meet people."
Kaidan gave a shrug and said, "I might get a rare dragon, but it doesn't really matter to me. All that matters is that I get one that likes me." He glanced to Royalise's book and said, "Looks like you've done a lot of research." Kaidan once again looked to the big stack of books, and then he smiled. "Well, I don't plan on getting killed, so I hope everything works out. Maybe I'll end up like one of those great students that they have pictures of in the mess hall."
"Hey, who said I was scared?" Kaidan replied, "Maybe angry dragons are a little intimidating but it's nothing I can't handle. I'm just wondering what my dragon is going to look like, or what sort of personality it's going to have."
